Doxly Continues Growth; Adds former Simon Property Group GC Jim Barkley to Board of Directors and hires Doug Wilson as Vice President of Product
INDIANAPOLIS – August 17, 2017 – Doxly, a secure portal for end-to-end legal transactions, announced that the company continues to grow through the addition of a new board member, Jim Barkley, former General Counsel of Simon Property Group, and a new Vice President of Product, experienced SaaS product strategist Doug Wilson. These additions to the team, and their respective experiences in legal, transactional, SaaS, and enterprise product development, are imperative to the continued growth of Doxly.
Barkley recently retired as General Counsel and Secretary to Simon Property Group, the world’s largest public real estate company. He brings to the Doxly board a unique perspective on the legal and finance space from his 38-year tenure, where he led large transactions for the company.
“Jim is known for his ability to evaluate diverse opinions and build consensus to achieve shared goals and objectives. He takes a collaborative approach to problem solving, and we share that same core value,” said Doxly CEO & Founder, Haley Altman. “We are also fortunate to draw on Jim’s experience at a Fortune 100 public real estate company, where he structured, negotiated and completed complex domestic and international transactions.”
In addition to his transactional experience, Barkley also led the creation and implementation of governance initiatives at Simon. Specifically, he helped the board navigate through the requirements of The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. As General Counsel, he supervised a fully-integrated legal, risk management, tax and internal audit team.
Doxly expands its experience in enterprise software development through it’s hire of Doug Wilson as Vice President of Product. Wilson brings his SaaS experience, having a wealth of knowledge and expertise in building comprehensive product solutions for users across the globe.
“Doug identifies and solves business challenges to bring new concepts to life. His experience in leading product initiatives at early-stage technology and technology-enabled companies will be highly valuable at Doxly,” said Altman. “Doug is a strategist, and he has a strong understanding of how to bring together people and resources to ensure that the customer has a positive experience with the product.”
Prior to joining Doxly, Wilson served as the Director of Product Management at Salesforce. In that role, he was responsible for the lifecycle of mobile messaging and location services products. He worked closely with Sales, Finance, Professional Services, Marketing and Support to bring product solutions to the market. He also frequently collaborated with the sales team as a subject matter expert.
